This position is responsible for the production inventory of The Villages Grown Greenhouse, Outdoor Field Farm, and Production Facility.  This position requires a great attention to detail, and a knowledge base in hydroponic growing and controlled environment agriculture and food safety and handling procedures. Field growing expertise a plus but can be trained if there is no prior experience in outdoor production.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

·  Record and track all inventory coming out of the greenhouses and fields

· Record and track all inventory that is processed and packed

· Record and track all inventory that is shipped to customers

· Record all daily notes for inspections

· Cross platform communication with all production divisions and managers

· Verify labeling and certifications

· Manage all product going in and out of coolers and store in appropriate locations

· Record all inventory that cannot be sold and prepare them for another use

· Develops relationships with third party vendors

· Utilizes company software systems

· Attendance at all company required meetings

· Coordinates necessary inter-department communications and logistics

· Perform duties of the supervised team when needed and other duties as assigned.

· Complies with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies including FDACS, USDA, etc.


     Please Note: This position does not qualify for relocation expenses


Education and requirements:

· Three to Five years of experience of inventory management in a commercial growing operation

· A self-starter and leader that works well independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

· Participate in continuing education such as workshops, courses, events, etc.

· Updated licensing and certificates as mandated by management

· Must either be Food Safety compliant or participate in the courses required within 3 months of employment 

· Strong oral and written communications skills

· Ability to work with Managers in other departments

· Ability to meet deadlines, and keep a team on its deadlines

· Ability to solve practical problems

· Ability to utilize spreadsheet software and word processing software

· Ability to use The Villages Grown software and program

· Must have excellent computer skills

· Ability to lead team meetings and discussions

· Ability to work with associates in other departments

· Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English
