This position is responsible for assisting the Lead Farm Mechanic / Technician in the daily maintenance of The Villages Grown Farm Operation including the facilities, structured, greenhouses, outdoor filed farm, vehicles, equipment, etc. This position requires a great attention to detail, the ability to assess and repair equipment, building structures and vehicles, and the ability to effectively communicate. The Assistant Mechanic / Technician is partly responsible for safety, quality standards, preventive maintenance, and sanitation.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

· Perform maintenance duties and responsibilities under the direction of the Lead farm Mechanic / Technician

· Provide preventative and emergency maintenance service of machines, equipment and structures

· The installation of machines and equipment

· Communicate any necessary repairs, and faulty operations with Management

· Keep a log of all repairs

· Adhere to all safety regulations

· Maintain a clean work environment

· Perform electrical and plumbing maintenance


     Please Note: This position does not qualify for relocation expenses


Education and requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED

· Two (2) years of maintenance experience preferred or combination of education and experience

· Prior mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction and plumbing experience is mandatory

· Requires the ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English

· Bilingual, Spanish speaking a plus

· Background check and E-Verified


Physical demands:

· The ability to work indoors and outdoors through each season and conditions

· The ability to lift and move objects 75 lbs. or more
