Full Time at The Villages Media Management

This position is responsible for selling advertising based on advertiser marketing needs within the yellow pages of The

Villages Telephone Directory. Achieving budgeted revenue goals by developing all new/incremental business possible in

assigned territory, for maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions and improving market share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sell advertising space in The Villages Telephone Directory.

Solicit and acquire news advertising customers, secures continued advertising from current and former customers.

Call on customers to assess advertising needs and set up advertising budget, advertisement size, content, copy/layout,

calculate rates and quote to customer.

Effectively communicate the benefits and advantages of advertising in The Villages Telephone Directory verses other


Service customers who buy advertising by following up to ensure that their requirements have been met, ensure that

customers receive proofs, co-op statements, accurate invoices and other business needs.

Handle collection of past due accounts, contact advertisers who are past due to make arrangements to collect monies due.

Write sales orders and other paperwork, sales progress reports and other administrative duties as required by management.

Attend sales meetings as requested.


Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year print sales experience; or

equivalent combination of education and experience. Sales knowledge of Internet is helpful. An understanding of how to

use databases in a sales environment. Basic use of Microsoft Office programs necessary.
