The primary function of an IT Support Specialist is to supervise and assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the banks technology infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises the installs of PC electronic components, which may include circuit boards, disk drives, mass storage devices, peripheral equipment, and/or other related components .

Supervises end user support for the installation and set-up of microcomputers, and end user training in the use of hardware, application software support, and/or network products where applicable .

Responsible for the management of the bank’s inventory of PC parts and peripherals . Manages the bank’s VMware virtual server systems and all associated DR backups . Coordinates identifying bank assets and asset tagging .

Responsible for installation and maintenance of the bank’s ATM network connectivity . Manages incoming PC’s, Parts, peripherals and consumables . Work with vendors in the implementation and management of their systems in the bank .

Responsible for VOIP system, Active Directory, Image-based products, Internet Banking, Bill Pay Support, DVR Systems, FIS Bank way Servers and updates . Responsible for all pertinent PC department information assigned by the bank’s IT Officer .

Notifies the bank’s IT Officer and Information Security Officer of any security related issues (end users writing passwords on their keyboards, Virus/Malware detections) .

Works directly and assists the bank’s IT Officer in all projects as required.  Manages all Lounge PC’s and the bank’s hard drive images . Manages the completion of appropriate form(s) when parts are defective or break (RMA) . Responsible for the destruction of unused electronic media (hard drives).

Responsible for the proper disposal of unused or retired PC hardware and peripherals . Manages all banks off-site PC storage facilities.  Writes, develops and updates support documentation.  Position specific compliance and other trainings as required .

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent required plus related PC hardware repair required. A+ certification required as well as one other certification (i.e. Network +, Server +) or other area of expertise (Telco, Bankway technician etc.), Microsoft “MCP” certification required within one year of appointment to this position.

Mastery of PC software, hardware components, operating systems and applications, networking principles, hardware peripherals. Complete comprehension of the Windows Server, Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 operating system and Microsoft Office suite. In-depth knowledge and understanding of electronic schematic drawings required. In-depth knowledge and understanding of networking in a corporate environment required (TCP/IP protocol suite, DHCP and DNS) as it relates to the bank. Basic network troubleshooting. Principles of Microsoft’s Active Directory structure. Patch management in a corporate environment; AV / Spyware deployment in a corporate environment.

Must have a mastery of cable testers, patch panels, principles of networking and networking components, as well as, hardware maintenance support including, but not limited to; board replacement, cable switching, communications devices, microcomputers, monitors, and related peripheral devices.

Ability to work with little supervision. Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work under pressure to be able to solve complex problems or procedures. Must have an understanding of mathematical concepts. Flexible work schedule (Ability to work overtime, if needed) Timely and accurate preparation of paperwork as required. Must have excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
